Does having a capachino trigger AFib because of the caffeine?
One a day.: Does having a capachino... - Atrial Fibrillati...
One a day.
WE are all different as is our AF so it is what affects you that is important. Most of us avoid caffeine as a matter of course.
That has been my experience. For me, if I only have caffeine after a meal, its okay.
I realised that caffeine triggered it for me whilst on holiday in Italy in 2015 and immediately changed to decaff. It's definitely a trigger for me as is white wine which I liked to have now and then but alas even 1 full glass triggers an episode within about 20 minutes . So now I stick to my southern comfort coz that doesn't appear to trigger my AF!!
stay well,

Hi Meeie
All the coffees with caffeine in can trigger af. as can tea as it also has caffeine in. I find that tea does not bother me as much, but the best thing is to get decaffeinated tea or coffee which includes capachino. They taste just as good these days. Also alcohol can trigger af but I cope with a small amount with little problems.
Hope this helps.
Regards Flyer.
I was told to limit my caffeine, but my usual 15 oz of caffeinated coffee has not had not triggered afib for me, and if anything seems to help. Alcohol on the other hand is a trigger for me and i have had to cut it out almost completely for now.
Regarding caffeine, two recent meta- analyses of multiple studies suggest that caffeine exposure does not lead to AF and may actually be protective. My take on these analyses is that some people may benefit from caffeine and others not so much. How to know?

Hi I have one a day the rest of time I have herbal drinks or decaf
Hello
I have PAF and have three cups of good quality coffee every morning with no effects at all.
I can also drink red wine.
My triggers seem to be tiredness and stress.
There was a recent study that came out that stated there was no correlation between a fib and caffeine. Personally I find that to be true. I was warned originally to stay off caffeine, but saw no detrimental effects as started back on my morning coffees and afternoon iced teas. I am sure it depends on each persons particular circumstances, so I would gradually try it out to see how you react.
