hello everyone my name is andy and i have just had my 2nd pvi ablation at the age of 52 on 14th march 2018..my cardiologist felt that the first one nearly worked but after having a few short episodes of afib three years later he decided to do what they call a top up ( fingers crossed) anyway i just wanted to let first timers know to ignore the "you will be back as normal in a few days" speech. it is nonsense and will take 6 weeks onwards to recover so please, please take your time there is no rush....best of luck. x
do not believe the literature - Atrial Fibrillati...
do not believe the literature
Quite agree which is why we have been working on a new "Recovering From Ablation" fact sheet which will hopefully be available from AF Association later this year.
hello bobd...will it also be available near the hospital labs and waiting rooms do you know?
It will be an AF Association asset but hospitals could use it if they wanted to. It really is amazing how many doctors think it is about as much trouble as a dental cavity! Got to get it approved first mind!!!!
The docs may get back to normal in a few days if they are tired from a long day of operating on patients. But WE don't. All surgery and procedures are an insult to the body-even if we need and are helped by them. Our bodies need time to recover and build up depleted vit/minerals/blood cells/tissue. Don't rush your recovery process., etc. Healing inside (invisible) takes longer than an external incision appearing healed.
Yes your right, thought my Ablation for Atrial Fribulation never worked but it took a year before the A f stopped,
Now got Atrial flutter witch i'm having Ablation for on Tuesday, hope that don't take a year to work, Do feel better after i had my first Ablation hope i feel even better after flutter Ablation, so can get off all these horrible tablets
Good luck, hope all goes well. I'm still waiting for my 2nd ablation. Let us know how you get on.
Yes went okay. Thought it was just flutter but it was a fribulation as well so it took about 3 hour's 30min uncomfortable at times but all done and dusted know. Early days yet but see how it goes
