Sauna jacuzzi
Never tried but I can't see why it should if no other activity causes you problems. Your heart will have to work harder in sauna for sure so if it is the first time you have made it do so may be hard for you. You still have a lot of healing to do yet so be guided by your body.
I always understood that saunas were generally not a good idea for those with heart problems.
A sudden rise in body temperature would put stress on the cardiovascular system. Ok if you have no heart conditions.
As your blood pressure drops you will find that your heart rate will increase to counteract this.
No doubt those with experience of saunas and AF will enlighten
Thanks yatsura. I felt that might be the case
This has been my experience. Love pools, water swimming etc. When I developed AF some years ago was advised "Stay out of the saunas." Didn't listen and the first time I got in got weak and had to be helped out. I miss them but they are off my list now.
Unfortunately you might have to give up the sauna and jacuzzi. I was a regular sauna user, being a finn. But since the AF got worse and had two ablations, cannot take hot sauna anymore. It does trigger AF. I still have one once in awhile, but very short and not hot, hard to give up. Good luck!
I have used the jacuzzi at my local swimming pool 3 times a week for many years, before and after my valve replacement 5 years ago. It has made no difference to my AF. I am sparing in my use of both the sauna and the steam room which do come with a warning for people with heart conditions. If I use them at all (mainly if I am feeling cold) it is only for a few minutes as I don’t especially like them.. Again, there has been no apparent effect on my AF or generally.
Cool. Thanks
