It did for me. Everyone is different but yes, the whole experience with it was awful, made it difficult to exercise and allowed for a significant weight gain. Talked to my cardiologist and she changed it.

I posted that topic and question only because a while back I seen someone else ask the same , which I felt connected with my very same problem , and at that time I decided to Google the question " is weight gain associated with Metoprolol " , and Google came back with " 387,000 " Results !!! , what does that tell us ?

without a doubt.

I had managed to get my bisop dose down to 1.25 mg daily and with heathy eating and exercise i shed a stone in a month.

Back up to 2.5mg a day now because the flutter is back, feel like a zombie walk like a 90 year old and have put 3lbs on in a week

Yes I think they all can , as my dose has been reduced so has my waist size 👍🏼

Yes! When I stopped metoprolol I dropped 25 lbs in 6 months. I'm now taking coreg (carvedilol) and gained 10-12 lbs since the first of October. Beta blockers cause weight gain.

I’m on 10mg of bisoprolol and understand that it slows my heart and my metabolic rate so as long as I eat less and exercise I won’t put on weight 🤣🤣
