I'm not sure what you mean by 4 second afib.

Do you mean you have very short episodes of afib? If so then this is common (for me), bearing down compression usually stops it. If it doesn't then I know I'm probably into a longer episode of a few hours and it's time to take my flecainide pip.

To be honest, what we have learned from various talks would suggest that any arrhythmia lasting less than 30 seconds really can't have a name. Unless an ECG can determine exactly what is happening it would be wrong to say it is AF. I think we all get very short trills of ectopics and sometimes tachycardia but would never call these atrial fibrillation.
