ICD Recovery Time

Hi,

I’m just back from the hospital after having an ICD fitted yesterday. The site is pretty sore at the moment - although I’m reassured that it’s fine, it hurts to lie down and it hurts to sit up. I’m taking paracetamols every 5 hours.

I’ve read a number of really useful posts from others who have been through this. Can anyone remember how long it takes before you can move around bs without pain?

Thanks

Hi Juliesk - I had a Pacemaker fitted and it was two weeks of pain for me and tenderness for about a month before I started to feel better.

A couple of days for me.

Give it a week and you will be almost fixed. I use a lot of pillows in bed to keep me upright and to protect the wound area.
