Being treated for depression as well as AF I am on Mirtazapine 30mg since June, but still feel terrible, so they have put me on Venlafaxine 75mg as well which they will increase. Has anyone been on this? and how long does it take to work? I have been on it for 11 days.

Thank's Keith.

Hi Keith, I don't know that drug, but if it helps, I took Paroxetine and it worked a treat. After a month of taking it, I decided I was ready to wean myself off it, and did so successfully. I am back to being myself again (AF aside). Stick with it - it can take a few weeks to work.

Hi, sorry no, but wishing you all the best.

It might be worth trying the depression community on this site with this question.

Venlafaxine is a powerful second line antidepressant. With your combination of antidepressants, I imagine you are seeing a psychiatrist. Consider having a word with the community psychiatric nurse.

They are well known antidepressant medications. It takes some time before you can experience any improvement. Keep in mind that some psychotropic drugs are contraindicated when you take anti-arrhythmic drugs.
