Hello, John here, new member but old fibber. I had AF from early 1990s at age 40 through to mid 2000's when I had a successful ablation. Still suffering pretty bad ectopics now and again (thankfully I'm retired and don't have to work through the bad ectopics and loss of sleep caused) and have always had a coincident gastric problem. Just checking back in with the community to see how things are going and maybe offer some support and info if relevant. See you around
Introducing myself: Hello, John here... - Atrial Fibrillati...
Introducing myself
Welcome back John, let's hope you don't need too much help and that you stay well. Mind you you, if your and old fibber, does that mean we can't believe a word you say!!!!!! Ectopics can be very unpleasant, but the general view they are relatively harmless and if you try the "Search AF Association" box top right, you may find information about deep breathing excercises which can help.......anther John.....
Thanks Flapjack. Yep, working on the ectopics at present, particularly the link with my gastric situation which is definitely not good. Dr Sanjay Gupta has a lot to say on this, search YouTube for him. He's a gem for all things AF & ectopicy.
Jong1945 - Sanjay Gupta is well respected on this site. I see him as a cardiologist who genuinely wants to help people. Did you see his statement on Facebook about what he thought of NHS treatment with pills? If not I copied it onto this site, so if you click on my icon you should find the post I put on a few weeks ago. He also has live 'any questions' sessions on Facebook.

Welcome to the forum John. Your statement of being an old fibber made me smile.
It's always nice to have another member who is happy to offer support to others, sometimes it's just showing that you care and are thinking of another member that helps rather than technical medical knowledge of the heart. Some people just want to be listened to and for someone else to say,' I have that too'.

Thanks Jean, yes, I am retired now and having had the opportunity over the past few years to support some friends locally who have developed AF, I thought it was about time to put some of my time back for others who are struggling. AF can be not much of a bother, or can be a cussed condition - and not many of the former tend to come to these forums. There is much better knowledge these days than when I first developed AF in the 90's (BA - Before Ablation) but it is no less of a shock and worry for a new fibber. Still a lot to be done
Hi John Grover, I'm a white lira. However I'm replying because I want to educate myself on this condition you speak of, as me no bathing about it. Hope you reply
