Many thanks for all your kind and informative replies.

Was nt sure of how the procedure worked in regards to follow up/help/questions - but thank you all for taking the time to explain.

Seems like it’s every man/woman for themselves eh?! 😏😊

I'm not sure that the system is quite as brutal as your final sentence suggests, but I do think it's worth getting genned up on NICE guidelines and being assertive (in the nicest possible way, of course!) if you feel that you have been abandoned.

I've never needed to consult them myself, but the AF Association does have a help line and I think it likely that they would be able to guide enquirers through the minefield of what is supposed to happen when people are diagnosed with AF. They'd be able to answer general questions about the condition too. They also publish helpful booklets (see the Pinned Post 'AF Association - Patient Information' on the right hand side of this page)

Hi Lizzie-Loo2013, I think you live fairly close to me. I have been under Papworth for years but in past two I have not seen a cardiologist at all.

I feel a bit abandonned, do you belong to a local support group? I would be very interested in one and getting in touch with local people who have the same concerns. My AF does not dominate my life, I am very active outgoing and am a painter but, just sometimes ,if I get a bug , I become more aware of the AF symptoms and worry. A worry shared is indeed halfway to feeling better . Best wishes Lulu
