Fast Heart Rate

Started the day with an Afib episode that lasted 6 hours. Now I’ve been resting all day but my heart rate is hovering around a 100. Won’t come down from that. I’m in normal rhythm but my heart rate is still high. This is new for me. Usually once my episode ends I go back to a normal resting heart rate. Anyone else experience this??

Finally back to a normal resting rate in the 60’s. was actually on way to the ER when I felt this ennormus pressure from my stomach move up through my chest and then everything is normal. Anxiety? Like I said have never experienced this with previous episodes.

That’s good! My heart rate is usually around 90-100 goes up to 240-260 when in afib😩

Ugh I hate that feeling of waiting for it to happen again.

I wish I had something to offer.

When m,y AF hits it hits hard, knocks me down completely, usually lands me in hospital and then it "breaks" up to 24 hours later with the help of lots of drugs and the occasional cardioversion. and I go back into normal bpm.

Lingering round 100 would freak me out and make me think it's just biding its time before it kicks in again BUT I am starting to learn there are many different version of AF.

GL I hope it subsides.

Are you on any meds?

Yes, I have had that happen quite a few times, often at a higher rate, it always eventually came down. 100 is not very high but HappyJo makes a good point, if it continues may be worth getting to somewhere that can give you ECG or if you have a Kardia, take a reading.

Have you tried some conscious focussed breathing to aid relaxation? That often helps.

After a heart attack,AF has been with me.My pulse rate has been 156 BPM and feelings of passing out.I would suggest you get a ECG and tablets from your GP,she put me on Digoxin tablets which hopefully have done the trick.I am now down to 60-64 BPM. You need to get a GP to advise you.All the best Ron

Thanks for all the advice. Right before bed it kicked in again and not sure how I fell asleep but I did. Woke this morning in normal rhythm but feel so sluggish. Currently on a very low dose of sotalol and that has kept me in normal rhythm up until this week. Doctor started me on some anxiety medication and wondering if that is the cause of the recent episodes. Started me on a very low dose of lorazepam. See my GP this week and going to look for a different type of anxiety medication but seems everything I check doesn’t interact very well with sotalol.
