I wonder if anyone at the conference asked the learned E.P.s whether or not there is any truth in the rumour that ablations may not be offerred as standard treatment of AF on the NHS. Nby standard I mean for patients who have tried and failed with medication.
If someone has already posted re this , I have missed it.
Thanks in anticipation x

Yes I did ask Trudie actually and reported it on Sunday evening along with some other bits and pieces. She has not heard of any such national policy although we do know of some local difficulties around funding.
Thanks Rosie. Im just curious as, if it were to be true ,there is a great deal of expensive equipment out there in hospitals and while Im sure it is used for other procedures, we are led to believe that this cutting edge technology has been developed with ablation in mind. X
Hello dedottie has anyone anywhere actually stated that ''ablations may not be offered as standard treatment of AF on the NHS'' I haven't seen it anywhere having searched the net .
I know someone posted on here that they had heard ''the NHS are seriously restrcting Ablations till the end of this year'' see below..
Hi. It was the rest of that sentence that I was more referring too. The bit about not offerring them on the NHS. It could of course be just that hospital as it sounds as though there are other issues going on from Bobs post. Lets hope so. X
