Hi anyone experience d fluid retention mainly swollen ankles when taking edoxaban & is it a case of living with it or should I be seeing my doctor sooner rather than later.we are due to head south for the winter (the Algarve) on 25th October & I have been taking edoxoban for about 17 days.I have appointment with doctor on 13th .I hope I don't need to be changing pills.help appreciated please.

I think more likely a different drug you may be on as anticoagulants do not normally cause this sort of problem. What else do you take?
Raise the bottom of your bed about 6 - 9 inches (2 pillows works well) and the problem should resolve itself
Hi I am just reading your post now as my mother has been taking Edoxaban for two days and her ankles have been swollen for the same amount of time. I was able to find today that ankle swelling is indeed a side-effect of Edoxaban. In this 2015 NICE study, "peripheral Oedema" (swollen ankles) is one of the 5 most frequently reported side effects. The paper doesn't suggest a remedy, unfortunately. See page 10, section 3.14 in the link below:
