Hi I go for a nuclear heart test on Monday. Sounds quite brutal! Just wondering how others went on? Thanks

I haven't had this test myself but a good friend of mine had one a few weeks ago. Nothing to worry about I'm told ! I'm sure someone on here will come up with more details for you.

I had a nuclear test 7 years ago. It consisted of 2 visits, the first I was injected with something that imitated exercise to the heart and has to do light pedalling on an exercise bike. A dye was then injected and I was put through a kind of CT scanner which took loads of images (it's a bit noisy!!). The next visit was the same without the exercise so they could check the heart after exercise and at rest. I presume this will be a similar test to yours and can assure you it is painless and my middle name is coward!! Good luck.

Thankyou. It's the thought of nuclear juice being pumped in, I'm thinking, my poor body. There must be some effects along the line. Thin bones or something. It's got to done, forward I go. Thankyou for your reassurance.😊

I had a radioactive bone scan to check that my prostate cancer had not got into my bones. No problem at all but you can't play with children for a while afterwards and I found that I set off shop anti theft alarms . Great fun! If you intend to fly afterwards you need a letter from the hospital or you could be in trouble with the body scanners at the airport.

Drink plenty of water afterwards to flush it out.

This sounds frightening but in fact it is quite straightforward as Droopy60 describes. The worst part for me was having to stay still for what seemed an age, but was probably only a few minutes. It would help if it was possible to listen to music during the scan, but presumably this isn't possible.

Thankyou, scan I can cope with, it's the nuclear bit that I don't like. Thankyou.

I was sent out of the room and told to go to the café and get a drink and toast. I scurried past a lass that was pregnant. Is it safe or not? lol.
