Had a pvi ablation 08 Aug. All seems to have gone very well. I have though had a bad headache (feels like a tight band but moves around) accompanied by feeling nauseous to the point where I am not able to sit up in bed. Over the counter pain killers don't seem to be helping much and gp has prescribed betahistine to combat the sickness.
Wondering if Anyone else has had similar??

Hi Steveve and welcome to the forum. Headaches/migraines are fairly common for a few days after an ablation. Try using the search box at the top right of this page and you will see what I mean. It's a shame they do not tell you these things prior to discharge! You may already be aware, but it's very important not to do anything for the first week, and not much more for the second to give the heart a chance to settle and for the entry wounds to heal. Also, don't be surprised if you get some ectopics or even AF as it takes 3 to 6 months for the scar tissue to form. Apart from all that, well done, expect you are delighted its all done.....best wishes, John
Steve, I had a cryoablation 4 weeks ago and developed headaches after about a week. Mine are quite mild and don't need painkillers but are annoying nonetheless. I'm seeing my EP on Wednesday and will speak to him about it.
Yes, quite common but they go away in a few weeks. I found rest in a dark room and paracetamol worked. They are caused by the hole punched through the he septum. As I already had a hole in the septum - about 20% of the population do - I have had these headaches most of my life. You just get used to them.
Thanks everyone for the replies. Gp diagnosed an ear imbalance/vertigo and to be fair the nausea is far worse than the headache. I have stemetil prescribed to add to my collection of tablets and need to see how it goes over the next 24 hrs
