Multaq Question
Sounds like it's Bronchitis! Drink a lot of water to loosen it up! May have to get on atiobotics to clear it up!
Thanks so much for the input
Thank you for your response.
Yes and I have never taken Multaq (dronedarone) . Its that time of year. If you don't think it a virus then please speak to your doctor.
I take this and have never had this problem. I've been on it a year now and no side effects. Not sorted out my af but that's another story lol
I've been on this for just over two years and not had any problems.
I've had the rare condition pulmonary toxicity / cryptogenic organising pneumonia secondary to dronedrone and amiodarone, but that is characterised by being non-productive, though you may have a cold as well. If it is an underlying cause you will have crackles in the upper lobes, a mass in one or both lungs and, declining SpO2 (blood oxygen). Antibiotics have no effect on it and will require prednisone to reduce the inflammation. There is a published paper on the Royal College of Physicians Edinburgh Web site and, the North Bristol Lung Centre have experience of the condition if your clinicians need advice. It occurs in around 6 in 100,000 patients and is life-threatening if untreated as it appears to be community acquired pneumonia and therefore is incorrectly treated with antibiotics.
