Electro Magnetic Frequencies - Does anyone have any experience with improving AF/syncope when addressing their immediate daily surroundings and where they sleep to reduce/eliminate EMF's?

One member is convinced that his AF was brought on by carrying his mobile phone in his shirt pocket. I have worked with race car engines all my life and received countless shocks from hight energy ignition systems but can't blame my AF on that .

We know that electromagnetic fields can disrupt pacemakers (allegedly) and such as induction hobs should be avoided by those wearing them.

Avoiding the vast array of EMF in the world would be impossible. Some years ago my office was next to an electric sub station which affected the old style CRT computer screens yet testing actually showed that there was a far stronger EMF in the street outside than at my desk. It was the disruptive nature only which affected the screens .

I will have to try that, I have been using cling film ;-)

What I do know is that when initially diagnosed, whether it was just psychological or not, I was very aware of Dect phones, mobiles, a small telecoms mast 100m from our house. I had an EMF report done, bought expensive portable supposedly blocking products (probably a complete con) and switched off mobile devices whenever possible.

After being stabilised on Flecainide, Mg and CoQ10 supplements plus lots of lifestyle changes the EMF worries disappeared and I am guessing my mind/body/Vagus Nerve can now handle again the average EMF burden we all are subjected to in modern life.

An indirect answer to your question but hopefully something of use.

In my working life I was often in close proximity to 400 volt and 11,000 volt equipment including 400 volt circuits that were close to resonance. It never set off my AF but I worked with one engineer for a short who said she could sense strong EM fields.

As a retired radio/electronics engineer I can confirm that the supposed blocking equipment was indeed a complete con. I doubt, personally, that EM fields are contributing to AF in any way. From a professional standpoint, EMF is electro motive force, while the fields are plain EM, electro magnetic. I know EMP is featured in much science fiction, but I'm not sure even solar observers use the term.

The cheapest way to protect yourself from EM radiation is to surround yourself with a Faraday cage. The higher the frequency to be protected against the higher the wire count in the mesh. My house, built in the 1960's, has a great deal of aluminium (aluminum) foil in the plasterboard (dry lining?). This makes radio reception difficult without external aerials.

Ooh, we need to do an experiment with persistent AF-ers (I'm volunteering!). Stick us all in a faraday room for one week and see if our heart rhythms significantly improve :o) It would be brilliant if it worked, we could then invent faraday vests to wear under our clothes.

I love a good conspiracy theory. In my darkest moments (kept awake for the 3rd night in a row by AF/angina etc) I'm convinced that secret groups are experimenting with us via wifi through the lightbulbs.

I know I'm joking a little, and the effects of human-created EMF on physiology needs to be investigated seriously, without quackery.

I have the new RF electric meter literally 10 feet from my head on the other side of a hollow block wall. WiFi, Cell phone and the rest of it. You do not think that can have a possible influence on an electro-chemical firing at the SA and VA nodes?

I can't see how any electro magnetic frequency WOULDN'T have an effect on our physiology. I've worked as an 'energy worker' for many years, after being unhappy working in conventional medicine and psychology, and this work experience only serves to support the view that we are all 'as one'. All part of the same energy field. We cannot exist in separation from our environment.

However, we can influence our environment, even the 'unseen' layers of it. During my daily meditations, I always show gratitude for the various electro magnetic energies around me, both natural and human made. If human made frequencies are detrimental to us, its our own fault. We're all responsible for the group consensus of creating technology. Electricity in Nature expresses only as beautiful and balanced patterns, but the way we harness frequencies for technology expresses itself in distorted ugly patterns.

My meditations are a work in progress. When I finally learn how to keep my own electro magnetic patterns in harmony (including the heart), when being bombarded by technology - I'll post it on here! :o)

There's no way EMF would penetrate down to the heart - there's too much wet stuff in the way. To generate a voltage across the heart would mean fatal levels of voltage across the brain.

What about RF specific?

It would still affect the brain long before it got to the heart. Kidneys or liver would possibly be next, then the lungs and only finally the heart. Quite why we evolved with the most important organ so exposed but the second one hugely protected is a mystery, other than the optic nerve being the most concentrated data carrier in existance.

The reply below mentions some rumours of brain cancer which could be possible, but the heart is so deeply buried in fluid that the rest of the body would have been fried by any electromagnetic energy long before it got there. This of course also why the paddles used to restart the heart use 100s of volts, yet an embedded pacemaker/ICD uses a volt or two.

Amateur radio operators in the era of radio tube transceivers had shown a higher rate of cancer than national average. I believe the proliferation of WiFi and cellular technologies quite likely has an impact on some people whose body systems may be more sensitive to this energy. AF was supposedly an older person's disease. Well, the number of people who are teenagers with AF has challenged that assertion. A while back studies were done which pointed to a strong likelihood that cell phones might cause brain cancer, and, then, not much more research was done (maybe the telecommunications giants didn't like the prospect of lawsuits). So, if there truly is a link between EMFs, etc., do we honestly believe the government (controlled by big money) is going to share the information with the general public?

Actually there were a number of further studies done on mobile phones and cancer, specifically before the introduction of 3G which used frequencies which could have been of concern. But the output power of phones has been reduced over the years as base stations become more commonplace and so the risks are minimal, and again it would be to the brain, not the heart. Possibly of a little more concern are the Tetra units used by the emergency services which are worn on the chest, as these are higher power and on far more often.

As for teenagers with AF, I suspect this has always been the case but who ever used to perform an ECG on a teenager before such machines became so cheap and commonplace ?

It actually might be useful if everyone was ECGed every five years from birth as a use of data and to spot early onset of conditions such as AF.

"if everyone was ECGed every five years"That would not be difficult or expensive with devices available now, like the Kardia unit. More likely would be a dedicated, more complex, and more expensive, unit designed for first line checks and retained by every GP/Baby clinic etc. More expensive, but still do-able.

Every GP already has a simple ECG machine, but they have to send in the data to a local hospital for analysis which involves cost. But if the data was just stored for later reference it is definitely doable.

Interesting, I didn't know that. I've never seen a GP use one, and my GP was interested to see the results from my Kardia and commented how good the traces were.

I have read that is not good to sleep or lounge near a wall that has a major appliance on the other side like refrigerator. I question whether TV satellite and streaming services are so good to be around. I have most electronics hard wired not wireless or cordless. One person I know developed AF after purchasing a hybrid car. That person had also had eye surgery and used steroid drops before their first AF episode.

I personally have had heart palpitations believed to be related to thyroid flipping from hypo to hyper from over stimulation from things like caffeine, iodine or methylation supplements. I have fainted before in crowds -- I think caused by a lot of cell phones around.

I've been dizzy before around electronics and first noticed it when setting up a wireless weather monitor I got very dizzy as soon as the prongs of the plug hit the socket. I suspected it before but that was my first really convincing experience that I do have mild EM sensitivity. Vacationing near a cell tower once I had really bad joint pain once. We removed our smart meter and that helped rid me of headaches I'd had for the year it had been installed. I personally have not been diagnosed with Afib but have a loved one who has. I am interested in neurotransmitters, EMF's and the mind body connection. I have also wondered if adrenal fatigue might be a factor with Afib. Also wondered about h pylori bacteria and candida fungus or Epstein Barr virus that might have lingered in the body for sometime.

I wonder a lot... I do a lot of soul, spirit and physical health searching...

Grounding / Earthing seems to help me.
