You were put into normal rhythm would you still use some form of anticoagulant or even a thinning protocol via diet and supplements?

see my comments on "natural " anti-coagulants.
Having helped to run a nursing home for many years and being witness to how devastating strokes can be, I can tell you that having one is my greatest fear!
Some people are left unable to move, speak or eat and are fed artificially through their stomachs. They sit looking out at the world unable to make any sense of what they see. I've seen others who cry, try to pull out their feed and just want to die! It's pitiful to see. So yes, I would hope that I would continue with warfarin, but perhaps keep it at the lower end of the recommended INR level.

Absolutely. I would never want to be without anticoagulation..ever. I go along with what Jeanjeannie has said re the devastating effects of stroke.

because i was restored after an hour and twenty minutes of entire right side paralysis caused by a 1cm infarct to the basal ganglia, I can appreciate first hand your concerns. In many ways the stroke was the greatest blessing I ever had.
We are all different in the way we experience Afib, there is no single medication for all, you can still have a stroke while taking anticoagulants. Live a healthy life style, find a doctor you trust and enjoy each day!
I know that I will be on an anti coagulant for life and I am grateful as it is a preventative medication.
