UK NSR Benchmarks

In the U.S. the standard benchmark for what is considered a "successful" ablation is 6 months of sustained Normal Sinus Rhythm (NSR).

What is the NSR benchmark in the UK?

Do you think 6 months is a justifiable NSR benchmark?

When considering an ablation do you ask the surgeon for their benchmarks and statistics?

If you do not think 6 months is justifiable, what do you think is a reasonable about of time to be in sustained NSR post ablation?

Prof Schilling , one of UKs top EPs once told me that if after five years a seven day monitor showed no AF then that was a cure. Personally I think six months is far too early as I was still having arrhythmias at nine months following my last ablation but then none for eight years and counting.

Those metrics make sense. If you do not mind sharing your current age. The proverbial "they" estimate a 20% reduction in overall cardiac output when in AF. I will assume they mean chronic persistent and not paroxysmal, not sure. Regardless, at month 9 or whenever you finally sustained NSR, what did you notice in terms of output or impact to well being in any respect? Have you still maintained some form of anticoagulant, if even diet or supplemental? Thanks again.
