Reverting to NSR

What techniques have worked/do work for you to revert back to NSR beyond the usual medication/medical intervention?

Doesn't work for all, maybe if you are 29 yo like the subject described. Had a digital prostate exam last year. 😊

What does work sometime if one is lucky is the trans echocardiogram (TE). Technician told me they once had a patient convert to NSR during the procedure and before the CV. Did not say if he remained. Tech may have been just trying to get me to relax, but also have heard the same before.

None and I've tried everything. Eventually it does go back after around anything from 6 to 24 hours .So far anyway. But I've had lots of these rectal examination's done over the years due to prostate problems. Feel nothing as long as plenty of gel.

That's not what my husband said 2 days ago! Actually he's in permanent AF and made no difference to him. Still in AF

I reckon it must be the Vagus Nerve that is the key player not the digital exam itself, especially if it is your first visit to an urologist. Any thing that shocks the brain or the stomach has possibilities both to convert to NSR and to cause AF. I have done both with a cold drink.

Well I think you will remember my most interesting conversion - hitting a deep pothole in the depths of Sussex - broke the car but converted back to NSR - so shock can work both ways to put you into AF or convert to NSR but not every time and not for everyone unfortunately.

I remember a post here some years ago, about a farmer in New Zealand who every time he went into AF would go touch an electrical fence to keep livestock from straying - worked for him!

A Dr friend told me an interesting story. He had a patient, an amateur boxer as it happened. Very fit and strong. He came to him as he had permanent hiccups. Lost weight, couldn't eat, sleep desperate.My friend had heard that Vagus manipulation could br achieved by the method of stimulating the anus. He did the procedure, very brave considering the patient. It worked, stopped his hiccups . Success.
