Previous contributors have written on this "Chinese patent medicine"..and I just read today this further research paper and thought I would add it to the fund of information available. I not heard of anyone on this forum actually trying out the product, I have not. Has anyone else tried it?
The study states that Wenxin Keli is "potentially effective" with 85% efficacy when combined with Western treatment, compared to 62% with Western treatment alone. Also, none of the adverse effects were serious and were attributed to the prescription drugs that were given along with Wenxin Keli.
"This systematic review included fourteen RCTs with a total of 1180 participants. The main findings of this systematic review were that WXKL (Wenxin Keli) combined with Western medicine demonstrated the potential effect of lowering Pd and improving the maintenance of sinus rhythm when compared with Western medicine alone or no treatment. WXKL is an effective treatment for patients with PAF. However, due to the poor methodological quality of the included studies, the evidence remains weak. Thus, the available data are not adequate to draw a definite conclusion of the efficacy of WXKL for PAF, but they provide some encouraging evidence of the effect of WXKL for the treatment of PAF."
