Had a heart ablation for permanent AFIB! That was two weeks ago! NO MORE palpitations thank goodness but so out of breath and go to water aerobics every day gain after ten days rest! I was a marathon runner during my 30 years in the Army. Still breathless and still cannot walk for more that 100 metres then out of breath!! Any one with advice or am I just being impatient!?????

I didn't feel my heart at all for 6 weeks post ablation but now get some mild episodes of AF. It sounds as though you are doing very well BUT you must realize that it's still early days. It will take at least 3 months for the heart to heal so you must take it easy and rest, rest, rest.

Yes, you are being impatient. Remember that your heart has taken a pounding. It had suffered before the ablation and was then burned and poked by a laser.

Very best wishes.

Yes, it sounds like you are being a little impatient. It's still very early days after your ablation and can take 3 - 6 months to fully recover.

I've had three and felt differently after each one. After the first two I was extremely tired for several months and after the second - well I felt as though nothing had been done so felt fine immediately.

As you are feeling very tired I would say your body is telling you to slow down and let your heart heal. Please listen to it or you may undo all the good work that has been done by the procedure.

YES. It can take three to six months for full recovery so be patient and take it easy. Go too hard too soon and you risk permanent damage or a repeat ablation.

And it's a YES from me!!.....all the best!
