I may have to have one and was just wondering if you had to stop noacs for this. I guess it may depend on what they do as some of the precedures could cause bleeeding. Hope to hear from someone.

i had 2 hysteroscopies within 2 months of each other, because the first one did not get the right tissue sample. i wasn't on anticoagulants at the time BUT i was recommended to stop aspirin a few days prior. your MD should know the full answer, but it is an invasive procedure with sharp instruments.
Check but if you do have to stop they can give you heparin injections to cover you until back on them
Interesting you should ask. I'm scheduled to have a hysterectomy next Friday and have had lengthy conversations with both my EP and gynaecologist as to what to do about anticoagulion. All are agreed that I should stop taking rivaroxaban 48 hours before surgery. If the EP had his way I would then resume it after 10-15 days. In the meantime, the gynaecologist insists that I have low weight heparin to reduce the risk of clotting. The EP explained that the levels of anticoagulaion required to reduce stroke risk are fa higher than those required to prevent clotting. I was due to have an ablation one month ago but had to postpone this to prioritise the hysterectomy as the EP insists that I am on 3 months of uninterrupted rivaroxaban post ablation.
Just make sure the various doctors communicate with each other. When I had my LLETZ procedure they both agreed when I should stop the anticoagulant, but neither one of them would be drawn on when I re-started. In the end, I just decided for myself once the bleeding had reduced.
Hi Cassie - yes I've had hysteroscopy and take warfarin. The gynae got me to stop the warfarin but can't remember if it was just my last dose I.e the eve before. then before I went into her in the hsptl I was sent to the bloods dept, had the usual Little test, back to waiting at the gynae part then within the hour I was called and gynae had result. She was happy to proceed because INR was below 2. She said I was ok to go back to taking warfarin that evening. Hope that helps. Patxx
