New to all this I am 48 yrs old and have been told in ER I had AF then seen specialist was told SVT. Now on heart monitor but I have chest pressure most of my mornings and nights. It seems to stay numb mostly with little pains and flutters then usually a flop. I know they say its normal but how do you tell if its more then just an episode.

there are heart monitors that can attach to your phone- one that a lot of us use is called Kardia and it would allow you to record and then show the results to your doctor- they are expensive- around £9- sometimes on offer for less- and there are other recorders some people here will mention.
If it's an AF episode there is part of the ECG called the P wave missing so it's quite distinctive

WE cant really say to be honest but since you are on a monitor I know that they will be able to analyse what is going on when you take it back. Sometimes best not to dwell and deal with things when presented rather than second guess. Very early days in your journey so read all you can from AF Association main website as knowledge is power.
