Arterial Fibrillation is the abnormal rhythm in the top half of your heart.

Anything to do the the Ventricles relate to the large pumping chambers at the bottom of your heart. They spotted I had a rogue Ventricular arrhythmia and fitted a ICD (Implantable Cardioverter / Defibrillator)

Have the mentioned this to you?

Atrial fibrillation (AF) is an irregular heart rhythm which originates in the top chambers of the heart. It is very disruptive for some people though others do not have symptoms they can really feel. It increases the risk of stroke especially if you have other risk factors for stroke, which is why you need to be assessed as to whether you need anti coagulation. VT stands for Ventricular tachycardia. This is a fast arrhythmia which originates in the bottom chambers of the heart. It can be sustained VT or non sustained VT (NSVT). I am a bit confused by one of your above answers because in your post you say you have VT but in a later comment you say SVT. VT and SVT are different. If you have SVT this is a different story as this stands for Supra Ventricular tachycardia which means it originates outside of the ventricles, usually above them ('supra') . VT can be a very dangerous arrhythmia which, if it is sustained, can lead to VF and cardiac arrest. SVT on the other hand is disruptive like AF but rarely life threatening. It is a bit confusing the way the terms and abbreviations are used. I have AF and SVT also. Hopefully the flecainide will settle things for you. This forum is wonderful for asking questions and getting support. Take care:)
