Nothing is for sure except death and taxes. Has it terminated or is it still going on? If your heart rate is fast and regular it may well be atrial tachycardia and need cardioverting but the first step is to go to your GP and get an ECG which you can send off to your EP. If this was your first ablation then you have been quite lucky so far but find out first what it is before jumping to conclusions. My third ablation was nine years ago and although I do occasionally get bouts of atrial tachycardia there has been no recorded AF in that time. AF is a long and on going journey for many I'm afraid.

Terminated for now but still feeling after effects. Heart just restless.

Thanks Bob you are always there for everyone. I hadn't been because I didn't want to jinx myself and think about it after going through so much!

Don't worry too much because it may be just a little touching up is needed where the scar tissue has healed from the ablation

When I was in that positions between ablations I made an arrangement with my GP that I could call at a moment's notice and get an ECG. helped a lot to be able to record what was going on. Before Kardia/Alivcor of course.

I can almost always tell by taking my pulse if I am in AFIB. It is easy for me. And the symptoms are hard to mistake. It is almost like a panic attack for me.

Hi Skitts

I am just over 2yrs post ablation, and I am getting missed beats now quite regularly for just over a week triggered by a pain in my chest (same happened Nov16 but went away after a week and all tests were negative at A&E), although pulse rate has been fine, so symptoms are odd and not how my AF was pre ablation , been to the GP twice and in NSR & normal BP etc, taking my pulse was/is always my indicator, but seems odd that whenever i check its ok, but can feel my heart missing beats.

So I have no idea what is going on now, await feedback from Cardiologist on chest pain and EP on whether he thinks AF maybe returning as do not want to leave it too long if a touch up is required.

Thank you for the reply and it is interesting for sure as I use pulse check too. Symptoms have calmed down for me some but we're unmistakably as pre Ablation. And it was 12 hours or so before I calmed and heart settled had nothing like this for a year. Was doing amazingly well. Will see what happens. Just an hour prior got a letter that my cardiovascular had left practice!

I would go ahead and make contact with a new cardio doctor if you can't use your prior one anymore and keep a log of any events, date, time, and duration. It is common to need another "touch" up. But, here's hoping it was an isolated incident.
