Morning AF

Hello all,

I had my second ablation just over two years ago. In the last nine months I have had three times of waking up in the morning with AF.

Is this a common thing or coincidence?

Yes this us quite common. Probably due to the vagus nerve.

Most of my AF episodes woke me in the early hours with a strange feeling in my stomach. My last ablation was 4 years ago ( can't believe it was that long ) but I still get AF. Fortunately the last morning bout was 8 months ago so hopefully things are starting to improve.

I don't know whether it is a common occurance but from my own experience I had to have 3 ablations to stop the AF. Ihave been AF free for over 16 months now so it seems that some people get away with one ablation whilst others need more to cure the problem. My cardiologist said to me each time. "Do you want to be cured" so I said yes. So touçh wood I am. Wishing you all the best

Thank you Carolewick, maybe a third ablation is what I'll have to do.

I too have often woken in AF and this is the reason why I started to take my daily 2.5 bisoprolol tablet at night. From posts on here others now do the same.
