I have a bit of a sore/dry throat - does anyone know whether it is ok to suck a strepsil? I am reading the info but cannot quite understand whether this will interfere with my medication for AF.

Difficult question since we are all different. I suck throat sweets a lot with no effect . Many cough medicines are really bad for heart rhythm such as Carvona as it says on the label . I think it is more about how it affects you rather than any drug contra indication.

thanks BobD. I have spent a bit of time going through the OTC drugs that can affect heart medication. My doctor told me not to take anything with ibuprofen in, so was trying to find out what affects what and how. It does seem like strepsils are basically hard sweets! A little alcohol and antiseptic in the form of mint and menthol. Think sometimes we can overthink things but it is a little bit scary when it comes to the heart.

Don't know about Strepsil but Lemsip put me into Af last time, both a cold medication, best stick to a spoonful of honey . Feel better soon.
