I wonder if GP's are trying to reduce the stroke risk posed by high blood pressure? This is one of the factors involved in 'the company which AF keeps'.

I'm with you on that Finvola. High BP is bad for one whatever and can add to the burden. Thinking has changed over the years as well. When I was younger they thought 100+ your age over 90 was fine but "they" now consider anything over 130/80 as high. Doesn't suit me as I feel dizzy much under that! ha ha.

In the cases I was talking about it was to see if the AF was controlled better - and this was the reason for the test in the attachment.
