6 weeks post ablation, still tired as heck.

Still fatigued, short energy, get tired real fast, out of breath here and there. Get some minor chest pain. When am I supposed to feel better? I get to work, sometimes I can last 2 or 4 hrs before I say I am done. I'm supposed to see my ep next week for echocardiogram, for follow up. They dont think it's cardiac related every time I call them and tell them how I feel I get no answers. My pcp has ran blood tests, came out good. Did a sleep apnea test which I'm still waiting for results and a urine test for hormone changes. Just a little frustrated because I've never felt like this until after this procedure and they didnt do the left to right puncture thing in the heart. Just want my life back 😒

If they didn't go from right to left then the ablation was for flutter not A Fib. Your right to left not them looking at you by the way. There is often confusion. Since they arrive at the heart via a vein this will always be into your right atrium where flutter is found so any PVI then needs the transeptal puncture.

Are you still on any drugs? Did you have GA or sedation . All these things are relevant. With a proper PVI (pulmonary vein isolation) ablation it can take from three to six months for the heart to fully heal and lots of strange things can happen. I do find reluctance by some medical staff to understand just how long it takes to recover.

No drugs, I believe it was radio frequency ablation and it was for wpw and svt. I had the twilight sedation. Were your awake and you cant feel anything. The EKG's are Still good so far, just having trouble getting my energy back and understanding the expectations of recovery times from these procedures. According to my doctor I was supposed to feel better in two weeks. Therefore they rule out the ablation being the cause of my fatigue and sorts. The thing that sucks is my ep is out of town so most of time I have to call them instead of face to face questions.

It is not unknown for there to be another reason for your fatigue, as was the case with me. I recovered very quickly from the first ablation, too well as did too much and the ablation failed so had a second. Was exactly like you, couldn't understand why I was still so tired, breathless and apathetic. I had to wait for onset of another set of symptoms to be diagnosed.

Patience is required and kindness toward yourself.
