Hi Steve...I've suffered a lot with Atrial flutter . It manifested itself as a fast regular beat settling to about 120 but capable of much higher ( for me). I found it very debilitating....it was unrelenting.
You might find it helpful to lie in bed propped up and not turn to your side.
Can you take the pulse beat in your neck, Steve? Carotid pulse can be found left and right below jaw about half way down neck. Flutter is rapid and regular - mine is usually 110 - 130 bpm - and can be felt in the pulse as such.
Flutter makes me breathless and weak-legged, though not as much as AF.
When I get atrial flutter, I can feel fast fluttering in my right side of neck. My Hr goes up to 190, I feel pounding in my chest, shortness of breath, my whole body feels weak and light headed. When I lay down flat on bed, it helps a little to minimize the signs. Had my my second RF ablation in November. Still get occasional PAC or palpitations but otherwise I feel fine. Great relief is I am off meds.
