Hi, You do not mention if you are are looking for NHS or private?

If NHS you should be referred by your GP to see a Cardiologist in Hywel Dda Health Board. For Pembrokeshire this could be either at Withybush or Glangwili Hospitals. The Cardiologist may then refer you for further tertiary treatment at Morriston Hospital, Swansea. This is where the EP and ICD pacemaker clinic for West Wales is situated. Not ideal because this can mean at least 120 mile round trip! The Cardiac Centre at Morriston is excellent but waiting times in NHS Wales are long, particularly here in Hywel Dda UHB.

If you are looking for a name, I would recommend Dr Mark Anderson and his team at Morriston however unsure if he works privately?

Mark Anderson does private work. As you say, waiting times in Hywel Dda Health Board are long. I'd been waiting for a cardioversion for 5 months after my AF became permanent and still didn't have a date. In the end I booked a private appointment with Mark Anderson to be assessed and within three weeks he'd done the cardioversion on the NHS. This is not how it should be but it was the best £125 I've ever spent! The cardio team at Morriston are excellent. Dr Fong Leong in Cardiff is also excellent and treated another member of the family.

Hi, I'm in Newport Pembs. I've seen Dr Mark Anderson at Morriston for the last 5 years and he has been great. Currently I'm waiting to see Dr Barry, another of the team at Morriston, for an ablation.
