You need to check with your GP - may be Warfarin dosage is the issue - but best for Dr to look into it.
Regards.
Agree this needs to be investigated.
And that's a very big dose of warfarin you're on!
What is your INR? I do home testing, you can buy the machine from Roche, and my wonderful medical centre provide me with test strips. It's the way forward if on warfarin, no clinic, no time wasted. Brilliant.
I suggest you go asap to where your INR is normally tested and tell them what has happened. I'm sure they will test your blood immediately and if necessary, change your doseage. If possible, take a sample with you and if it's your surgery, you are then more likely to be seen quickly once you have shown it to the receptionist. This suggestion is a bit late, so hopefully you have already had it check out......best wishes, John
I agree. Your warfarin dosage is enormous. Go, with a sample in a jar (not on tissue) of what you cough up. Insist on an INR reading.
Note, bleeding is more common in the first year of Warfarin.
It is not just the level of the INR that counts. It is also any evidence of internal bleeding. You have that evidence.
If you cannot get a prompt INR reading, then phone round your local GP practices until you find someone who has an INR machine. Sign on as a temporary resident, get it measured. Another thing you can do is to go direct to the path lab which does normal blood tests, and argue your case. I did that once, found someone sympathetic, and got it done.
If I could not get help I would also miss a day, possibly two, to bring the INR down.
