Definitely go for an ablation. I wasn't sure either but haven't looked back. You only need to take about 2 weeks off work which is really important to give you time to recover
Go for the Ablation ,I am on my second one the first one lasted eighteen months ,I had the second one ten weeks ago it's like a birthday present keeping my fingers crossed that this one will last longer .pulse rate at the present time is sixty five ,before the Ablation it was about 100 to 110.lofty UK
Hi Karim - Yes, you need to take time off work after an ablation. I guess it depends whether you do physical work or have a desk job as to when to go back afterwards. I would certainly say have two weeks off taking it easy. I've had three ablations and felt differently after each one, despite them all taking much the same time 5-6 hours. Surprisingly, and contradicting what quite a lot of people report on this forum, I felt better a lot quicker after the one I had with a general anaesthetic as opposed to the two with sedation only (I was conscious during those).
That's a high dose of Sotalol that you're on! How is it making you feel? I would go for the cardioversion first and then if that doesn't work and you're still feeling ill, perhaps the ablation.
