Presumably you are still properly anti-coagulated? What did they say about DCCV when you spoke to the arrhythmia nurse or EP? If you are anti-coagulated then they can do it as soon as convenient to them. Are you still on anti-arrhythmic drugs or not? Sorry but its a bit like how long is a piece of string.

They do not usually conclude ablation till you are in NSR so how quickly did you go back into AF?

These are not questions we can answer really so I would be chasing that arrhythmia nurse if I were you.

Yes Bob I am on rivaroxaban and 50mg Metoprolol I was given second Ablation having been on the waiting list for 7 months, in June this year I had a C/V which put me back in SR it was a big decision for me to go ahead with the Ablation but all the advice I was given was C/V do not last, at the moment coping with AF again is really bad , I will speak to my AF nurse and hope he will put me on the list for a CV .

Thanks for reply

Hi, you must be very disappointed. Your earlier post indicated that you left the hospital feeling good, so I guess that meant you were in NSR, albeit for a short while. Picking up on Bob's point, if you are taking a NOAC rather than Warfarin, tell the Arrythmia Nurse as this might help as INR levels are not an issue. Hopefully they gave you contact details before you left.....good luck

Yes I was fine for 2days just feeling scared of what going on at the minute I am trying to feel positive realize it will take a while for my heart to heal , I do have contact details with AF nurse .

Thanks for reply

Hi JackEmily, I obviously have no clue how long you will have to wait for your C/V but I can give you a hug of support as I was back in AF 2 days after my ablation and stayed in AF for close to two weeks when I had a C/V once I had some meds on board to help. Happily it has been NSR since then, which has a been 18 months. Try not to panic as you wait.

About 6 weeks after my third ablation in July I went back into AF and was given a cardioversion. Have been more or less fine since.

Did you leave hospital after your ablation in AF?

I'm on waiting list for ablation, but still not convinced that it will improve my quality of life. I do not have too many issues currently whist in persistent AF, although i cannot do any high intensity/ aerobic exercise.

I worry that an ablation may not fix, and maybe could worsen my symptoms

If i can have long periods between AF with DC Cardioversions, in my mind this is more favourable

In another few years advances may mean improvements in the AF "cure"

HI Jondeanp

Sounds like at the moment you may not be ready for Ablation

My last CV put me completely back in S/R may be this may be the way to go for now ,

Good Luck .
