Pradaxa (Dabigatran)

Hi, I have had AF diognosed approx 20 years ago, having just turned 65 I have been put on the anticoagulant Pradaxa.

Within a couple of weeks I experienced painful swollen knuckles in my hands and also aching elbow, shoulder and neck joints, it's hard not to think it is connected to the drug! The pain in my RH index finger joint is particularly painful, my usual dizzy spells also seem to have become worse.

Anyone have similar experiences?

Should I change to another anticoagulant?

I have had no such problems. A recent post indicated that it was not compatible with Simvastatin.

I think that you need to discuss your problems with your doctor as it all seems to be more than a coincidence.
