Well I'm just coming up to 3 weeks post ablation, popped into Cardiff with the wife to do some xmas shopping and having a few runs of what feels like missed beats, about half dozen or so after one another, it's putting a bit of a dampener on things
Out and about: Well I'm just coming up... - Atrial Fibrillati...
Out and about
Sounds like it's stress related Jugsy. No more shopping for you! Get the flags out!
It's a right pain if I'm honest, never had this before the ablation
Hello juggsy. I too have had a short run of missed beats recently, but it is early days. The heart is still healing but as far as I am concerned I feel that the pulses that are trying to get through are blocked as I have had nothing like I had before. I know that in your post you say you did not have missed beats before, there could be a number of things causing this one it might be your meds maybe they need changing but until you contact the people who were involved with your ablation you will not know. Missed beats do not mean that it has not worked this happens to a lot of people after ablation and some have to be cardioverted, remember grandma's post saying that she had to be cardioverted after her ablation yet she has now been in sinus rhythm for a year
Perhaps it would be a good idea for you to contact either Dr Ernst or Sarah Plowright the Ablation nurse specialist . I do not want to sound to condescending but please try and relax and contact the Royal Brompton Hospital to put your mind at rest.
very early days- I expect you know there is a 'blanking period' where any AF is not counted

Sabine once told me that ectopics are a good sign as it mean the heart is trying to go into AF and failing. Very early days yet Juggsy so try not to worry.
Avoid Xmas shopping! Seriously I know how distressing these miss beats are. Try to remember that they do go. I hate to be the alternative fanatic of the group but do try Hawthorne, its helped me hugely. Have a read on the internet about the benefits.
Got to agree, avoid xmas shopping, that's what I was doing when I was first diagnosed. Never done it since, perfect excuse 😃
