I think it's just the percentage of time spent in atrial fibrillation

I think it's the amount of scarring from a previous ablation has he had an ablation before?

hes not had a ablation but in 2012 he did have a cardiac arrest because of a heart attack and it was a total heart block near or on the hearts natural pacemaker so it could be scarring from that

Best thing to do is ask the doctor

I agree with Goldfish. What he is saying is that your husband has a lot of AF at 47% of the time. i e a burden.

I think that it would be useful to put the exact wording up here because I only found out a week ago that my AF is causing at least 30%, probably 40% circulation loss. That puts another dimension on percentages!!!

My EP told me I had 85% AF at the time and he explained that was the percentage of time I was in AF.

A quick check of the scientific literature revealed this: onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi...

So it looks like it is indeed a reference to % time in AF.
