My latest purchase? A 'grip strength dynamometer'. See

This is only a very small study but for less than £20 I have ordered a simple device that could lower my blood pressure, developed after my AF episode last December and for which I now take medication. I'll let you know how I get on!

Reminds me of the old Carry On joke about ball squeezers. (Windsor Davis.) Tennis balls are cheaper and squash balls more portable..

Let us know how it goes.

I'm going to have a look at these, Irene, as high blood pressure has always lurked in the background and my hands don't work quite as well as they did. Though I'll have to keep it away from my husband as he needs not to lower his blood pressure. He will just have to lose his grip. Tennis balls may work, but how does one know if one is improving?

Another quick remedy tip is to have a long hot bath (1 to 2 hours!!!).

A luxury I haven't had for a long time, Peter!

Do let us know how you go on Irene, it sounds good, but sometimes these things can turn out to be a disappointment. Good Luck.

I read the article but it didn't explain how often the exercise needs to be done. Daily?

A very good point - in my enthusiasm I didn't notice that fact was missing. I'll find out and get back to you.

Do not know if you want to try this but I found that a daily smoothie made with 2 sticks celery plus apple and mango or some other fruit and apple juice seemed to lower my blood pressure don't know why but something worked after about a month of this and it's stayed down 😊

Thank you for that, I will try that if the gadget doesn't work.
