My diastolic BP usually follows my heart rate. When in normal sinus mode my heart rate 62ish and diastolic the same it has at times gone down to late 50's .

My normal BP is 100/70 and can go to 95/65 at times.I take no BP medication and I cope well with this BP.

Sotalol has more effect on the top BP number as it reduces the pump force/action of the heart.

Do you normally have low BP or is it caused by the BB?

Thanks for the reply. I usually have normal BP, 120/80 so when it fell to /71 and results showing abnormal, cause for concern.

70 diastolic sounds fine to me - low for systolic though!

I’m usually about 105 systolic over 65 diastolic. That’s a big improvement as at its worst I would be glad to register 70 systolic.

Are you symptomatic? I would go more on how you feel than numbers. Some people would find my normal unbearable.

I have a bad memory so I need to use association as explained below.

I think of a pyramid. The smaller word is on top with the bigger on the bottom.

So with Antarctic and Artic the latter will be on top of the world.

Same with Tropic of Cancer and Tropic of Capricorn. The latter is on the bottom.

This goes for Systolic and Diastolic. The latter according to my pyramid is on the bottom.

Now that’s my kind of analogy. Can understand and remember things much better like that. Thanks Palpman. x

Thanks. Now if only CDreamer would apply it to her posts and fix the above one. 😊

My BP is regularly 90/60 or thereabouts. As I feel fine the GP says nothing to worry about. X

Mine is similar to yours, and often lower.

Using my Omron device (an Evolv) it tends to be higher when I first read it then it settles down after the second of even third readings. Typically, it ends up as 116/62. I'm taking a blood pressure tablet, mind you, but it hasn't done a lot, reducing the diastolic by perhaps 1-3mm (I don't have high blood pressure, and I was told it is a good overall cardioprotective). I might have to start bisoprolol if my AF starts again. I'm not looking forwards to that as I don't have much room to play with on that low diastolic.

Hairem. My Diastolic always in the 50s and heart rate also but systolic normal range. Had a 24hr monitor recently to check for Bracacardia . Consultant said it wasn't a problem , so I only take Apixaban now and I'm fine .
