I would appreciate it if anyone can give feedback whether they ever experience a visual effect sometimes during an ectopic beat, for the last few months sometimes during an ectopic beat I see a fleeting small black spot in my left eye only, I don't see this during a PAF episode,

I just saw this captainKFF and that's kindof horrible! You should keep a log on that! Like the time, how long does it last, draw your "eye" and how it looks! I was just in the hospital in April and had quite a few ectopics and PVCs (on the monitor and I felt it) and no visual events like that. I felt you deserved some feedback! Good luck!
Whilst it is always good to get your eyes checked regularly and if you have any unusual for you symptoms, I have had the black spots during ectopic episodes and put it down to sudden lowering of BP and therefore lack of blood supply.
Having had this all my life every time I stand up, I didn't think it was unusual or anything to worry about.
Personally I think that you should speak to your doctor or an eye specialist . Floaters , which are debris are not uncommon and as one ages the gel inside the eye thickens and can separate from the retina causing some strange visual effects as well as flashing lights (had both ) but always best to get checked out.
I agree with BobD, I have had floaters flashing lights and auras for years. I was always worried about them until I found an optermeterist, I think thats what he's called, and I now pay for Retinal Photography once a year just to keep a check on things, thats as well as my diabetic eye check. I have a number of meds that state vision disturbance as a side effect. lynn
Thank you everybody for your feedback, I decided to follow your advice and just scheduled an appointment with an ophthalmologist in 3 weeks.
