Hope it works for you, mine did and it was no problem. I was worried for the first time, but wondered afterwards why. Had to take it easy with the groin entry point for a week after, and couldn't drive for a while either. I just thought it was fascinating; the procedures room was like the Star Trek Voyager.
Like you, I was bricking it. I think only an idiot would let someone inside their heart with the intention of scarring it and not be afraid. So I told myself I can still change my mind at any time. I persuaded myself to at least go to the hospital (I could still change my mind), sat in the waiting room and this person came out and outlined all the things that could go wrong and then I had to sign the consent form. I waited until he left and seriously considered doing a runner. Anyway I managed to go through with it and the procedure itself was easy and no problems with recovery. I did have a lot of arrhythmias after but settled down gradually over 5 months. That was Nov 2013 and AF free since then. No meds except anticoagulant.
So your response is normal and rational but just talk yourself into it on the day. Good luck 🍀
I notice you have just been to corfu. I too am waiting for my ablation date but I can't gettravel insurance. The reason being I am waiting for a procedure go be done. Can I ask which insurance you used to get cover.
