red blotchy knees

This may sound like a strange question, but I have noticed recently that my knees are covered in red/purple blotches. There is no pain. I started Googling it and am even more confused now! Does anyone else suffer with this?

(I have had a diagnosis of mitral valve prolapse with regurgitation. I am taking Bisoprolol.)

There are so many things that can cause this Karen. Assuming you haven't been overdoing the weeding or the praying, I would consult your GP. Though not particularly serious, some causes won't simply go away by themselves.

No weeding or praying! I don't think it's serious but I guess when you get a diagnosis that is 'heart related', you are more aware of changes? Thank you so much for your reply. Kx

Are you on anticoag meds? If so and if you have been spending time on your knees, this might just be bruising. As always I'd always go back to the GP!

Thank you for your reply. I am on Bisoprolol, but I don't think they are anti coagulants? It really helps to have input from this forum. Thanks. Kx
