Just thought i would provide an update to my ablation on 17 Feb at Broadgreen.
I posted i felt that the op had gone well and was confident they had cured or eased my AF, and i am glad to say still feel that way. It was my second Ablation and i sort of knew straight away after the 1st, a cryo 2 years ago that it hadnt worked, but this time it was different..
Dr Todd told me that once i was hooked up, and asleep this time..(BTW the best way in my opinion) my heart was going in and out of AF on both sides of my heart...said it was like fireworks.
They where made up because they didnt have to force it into AF..so they knew the part they where concentrating on was exactly the right spots, he said they carried on ablating until it stopped.
I have had a few blips, bit of damage was done getting across my chest..so had a couple of moments over the last 5 weeks, but feel great for the majority of time..
Its still early days , i know, but in my mind i had given up on ever believing i could get back to some sort of life without AF.. .so really just wanted to say..dont give up..we can win.
Happy Easter to everyone, and thanks for the support.

Thank you very much for such a positive post. Dr Todd is my EP too. Dr Snowdon did my ablation as Dr Todd had to deal with an emergency. He did, however see the mapping before the end of my ablation.
I feel that Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital are excellent.
Some of your posts have kept me going through the dark times, this site owes you a debt of gratitude...and i for one love to read everything you write...Common Sense and humour...a powerful mix...
So pleased for you Robby and am glad you feel so positive about the outcome. Good to hear their may be light at the end of the tunnel as I am back in worse state than before my ablation 5 months ago. Am off to see my EP on Thursday, fingers crossed. Good luck, keep on track.
Hi Robby, it was my 1st and done at Harefield performed by a Dr Chen under Dr Hussain. It lasted 5 months and went back into persistent AF following a tooth extraction. I was told at the time I would possibly need a second due to being in persistent AF prior to ablation.
My 1st ablation didnt work..may have eased it a bit...i was told at the time as many are i believe that a 2nd probably would be required...so hopefully the next will be a longer success for you.
I didnt know there was a link between dentist work and AF, then again, who knows what sets us off.
Keep your chin up, as i think we will all get there in the end...
