Scheduled for Ablation tomorrow

Feeling a little bit shaky at the prospect. I know I am older than most others having an ablation but hope that physically I am not too bad. Feeling extremely breathless today - possibly just the anticipation of how I will cope.

Will let you know how it goes so that other "oldies" can gain from my experience.

Best wishes for success and a quick and problem free recovery! Even though I have had a bumpy ride I feel glad I had the ablation and I hope you will feel the same!

How old is an oldie. ? I was 63 when I had my 3rd ablation. And I was looking forward. And it worked well, 18 months ago, so far.

I'm sure you'll be just fine.

My EP says that he does not see age as a problem if you and your heart are generally in good nick.

Hope your big day will go really well, Enjoy. I felt very shaky beforehand, but had no problems. Confidence arrives when you get to the cath lab, as all the technology impresses so much, along with the level of expertise.

I truly am an oldie... not mentally, but chronologically I am 81 years and 11 months.

Oh, you're a spring chicken, Enjoy. Wasn't the Queen Mother 93 when she had her hip replaced? And I think a lady of 112 had a hip job too not so long ago.

You are three months older than I am. I am having an AV Node Ablation next month.

Thank you for the reminders of other oldish people undergoing procedures. I am just sorting out the "scrubbing" routine to be done tonight..

Reply to seasider .... they give you a small plastic jar of "SCRUB" which you use the night before and again the following morning, including your hair.

Hair??? They shaved mine all off except what little I have on my head. I'm 71 and had mine about a month ago. Feeling better especially in the mornings. I used to wake up like I didn't get any sleep. People are saying i seem to have more color now. Just getting back into my exercise routine slowly but am happy about how it's going
