Does any one know with you can still have a Ablation, if your left ventricle is moderately dilated

as ive had afib for many years and never new, till i had e c g,

You would need to discuss with your EP but since the ablation takes place in the atrium not the ventricle it may not be an issue. For sure, people with dilated atria often find that successful ablation allows a return to more normal size.

The diameter of your left Atrium has to meet certain criteria ie less than 4.7 mm. Mine was 5mm so I couldn't have the normal Ablation. But now they perform the Hybrid Ablation procedure for those who fail the criteria. In the USA they combine Surgical Ablation with Catheter Ablation in one operation but in the UK they perform each procedure separately . If you follow my posts you will find out how I am getting on since my 2 operations. So far very successful !!!
