Pill in pocket for afib

Hi, I take xarelto and my EP wants me to take Propeferone , but apparently if I have an episode he said I am to take 3 of these pills, at once. The idea being that the pills will just stop the afib.

Does anyone have any knowledge or experience of this?

I have PAF. Do they really work?

Thank you.

If you mean Propafanone (Arrhythmol) then I took it for years before my successful ablation and it worked quite well for me. At 3 x 150 mg you may find you get a metallic taste in your mouth which I did but we are all different.

I took propafenone every day for about 2 years, 10 years ago and it stopped my bad and continuous AFib completely. Then I had an ablation and came off all drugs, except anti-coags, for the next 8 years.

Hope it works for you, but if not do tell them because drugs are so personal. Even now, propafenone does not work as well on me 10 years later so have moved on to something else.

PS. Never used it pill in the pocket, but I do remember that when I started on it, it worked quickly.
