If you dont know who to choose have a look on AFA website at the list of EP's shown by region. When you have selected who you want to see whether someone you know of or via the AFA then see your GP and ask for a private referral.

If you dont know who is best to choose you could ask your GP to advise. You can go anywhere you want it is your right so dont be put off. I see an EP 160 miles away by choice as I have confidence in them.

Once you have your referral letter addressed to your preferred EP the gp can sent it or you can send it. I got my referral letter than rang my preferred EP myself so set up the appointment time. It was very easy to do it privately. NHS was taking forever as we all know.

Good luck.

I didn't need a GP referral letter. I phoned the Spires private hospital in Leicester after researching on line to find a good EP, booked myself in, saw the EP within a week. I did write a resume plus copies of hospital letters to give to the EP before my appointment so that he knew my history before I went in. Best money I've ever spent!

WOW NHS cutbacks are really bad aren't they? I had to cancel an appointment for Tuesday just gone because of another hospital appointment and was offered one in January 2016!!

Luckily I will see in the interim an arrhythmia nurse specialist, you really cant be in a hurry if you need to rely on NHS however good they are I guess he is just a popular guy???
