Doom feeling

I have only had one incidence of AF. I am on 2.5mg of bisophorol and anti-coags.

I am generally doing fine but each day have a period where I think my heart is going to burst into AF, have an ectopic or indeed just stop. Does anyone else have these sort of worrying sensations and know how to get rid of them?

Not sure you ever do although time is a great healer. I had three ablations following which I have been AF free for seven years nearly but it is never far from my thoughts. One just has to be sensible about it and not become too obsessive. CBT and similar things can help.

Welcome to the club. I am not sure if my heart has ever stopped but it does most other things!

I have been assured that AF is rarely fatal and I am taking AC's so my concern is mainly the extent of any related symptons. Clearly, from what I read, there are many people much worse off than me so I do my very best to ignore sensations from my heart (although I record details of AF episodes) and just try to get on with my life. Someone once said that AF will only control your life if you allow it to.

However, things can be a bit scary to start with so hopefully this forum will be of some help.

Hi Kbuck, have you looked up the possible side efects of bisphorol? My mother was taking them and she became depressed and could not sleep at night, also had nightmares.Since doctor told her to stop taking them,iv'e got my mum back. She is her old self again.

Kbuck, when you say you feel sometimes as though your heart is about to go into AF, do you mean you feel something physical, or is it just the worry? Or maybe you can't tell, which would be normal.

Just wondering because I get a physical feeling that I'm about to start after I've eaten. But as I know that's the reason, it doesn't bother me.

+1 for the comment above on Bisoprolol from moonbeam. It made me feel real rubbish, even on a low dose, and I had to come off it. Works for many though as you can read on this site.
