I was recently diagnosed with afib. I have been treated with symbicort and tudorza pressair for about 1 and a half years. I'm just wondering if afib could have been brought on by these medications. Thought I'd see if anyone out there has experienced something similar. Any feedback is much appreciated.
Thank you, and be well

I cant answer this specifically, but AF can be caused by many things including thyroid and getting older, high bp, asthma and lots of others. On my med leaflet it says the ant arrhythmia medication can cause arrhythmia! There are loads of possible triggers for setting it off as well. Like you I have COPD too.
Sorry I couldn't answer it, Im sure plenty of others will hop along. Just wanted to say hi really and let you know your not on your own.
For a very very long time I have been on meds for Asthma/copd and some of the time I was taking my Salbutamol (as instructed) hoping it would help my breathlessness, and I now realise that it was AF and the Salbutamol was affecting the heart rhythm.
A combination of both Asthma and AF are awkward for medication. Not sure how bad your Asthma is, but a change to Qvar has made a real difference to my Asthma. I am still extremely breathless but do not use my Reliever inhaler unless I am really "chesty".
Hi Carole, thanks for your response, and kindness. it really is a job trying to figure out this afib thing. Probably will never figure it out, but Im stubborn so I'll just keep on trying.
