Hi there, if you are not happy with the care you are receiving and are worried about your condition, you have a right to request your GP to refer you to the cardiologist of your choice. If your GP refuses, contact you local CCG and complain.

I was very lucky in that, being in Derby, usual referrals to an EP go to Glenfield in Leicester. But as my family are based up north in Manchester, I requested the North West Heart Centre and my consultant was happy to. So it also works specialist to specialist :)

Hello Paul29. I have done just that made a complaint regarding what happened to me and also set in motion a referral to another Cardiologist at another location. but what I am looking forward to more than anything is having a meeting with the EP and who ever else who I feel let me down so badly, because I would like to know why I was discharged without as much as by your leave with no advice or meds bearing in mind I am 67 and could be at risk of a stroke, that is what is really needling me more than anything, it just has to be a breach of duty, but we will see, I am sure they will try and wriggle out of it somehow.

Have a good day
